Sometimes **** Happens

Not looking so much like the above photo today.

First, let me ask you.  Did you think the **** meant something that
begins with 'S'?  Well, guess what - it didn't.

It was Sometimes Crap Happens.

Picture this -
It's Wednesday, February 13th
at close to 11 p.m.

We had taken a new bank card to Black Rose,
enjoyed a light supper and  shopping together
and had
picked up a company car (a favor for work).

What a week!
It's been a difficult week at work.
Then Black Rose lost her University
identification and bank cards.
And then.....

We were each driving a car.
He had gotten tired of driving behind the semi for almost an hour
and had passed me and the semi.
I too passed the Semi.
I was in a company car behind hubby, he was driving my car.

Time and KM/Miles continue
to pass in
the total darkness of the highway.

Wait, what's that????
I see a large racoon
(between us we say it was 20 lbs)
come running out onto the highway.
Poor hubby, he had slowed when he saw it coming -
who would have dreamed it would run INTO the car
and rebound into the other lane?
Then as hubby began to drive again, it jumped up
and ran in front of him!

WHAM, THUMP, THUMP.

We pulled over to inspect the damage .
 The skirting is broken and
some liquid is coming from under the front.
Not a great amount of water, so we decide to try to make
it to our local Car Doctor's shop.
.
However, as we began to slowly head down the highway again,
the tempature gauge climbed so we again pulled over.
On an EXTREMELY low battery -  I called a local Tow Truck owner.
After watching my car being loaded onto the truck bed,
we both climbed  into the Company car and continued towards home.

We picked up his car and then delivered the Company car to my boss' place.
It was now past midnight and time to get home for the night.
Tongue in cheek I told hubby "happy valentines".

Please forgive me Black Rose,
I kind of 'fibbed' on your inquiry text
"Get home safe"?
This arrived as we waited for the tow.
I knew you would worry if I didn't say yes.
In truth, we were only 3 Miles from home
with no injuries.
We could even see the Bigstop sign.
God is good.

Maybe this was a lesson in Patience?

Today I picked up my rental
after spending much time working with
the Insurance Company,
the garage,
and the car rental dealership.

It's small in light of other things going on,
but a recount of a frightening
yet somehow funny thing.
Picture a Pin Ball Game.
That's what comes to mind when I replay in my mind how the racoon
entered the highway at full speed and ran into a car.

Wow, who would have thought a raccoon could do that much damage, must have been a big one.

Glad y'all made it home safely! Yes, I would think patience is the lesson here....I'm a very impatient person, I can sympathize.

Stay safe!
