A Daughter Like You

You bring me joy,
each and every day.
Whenever I think,
or look at you,
I know I'm blessed.
You're very special,
thoughtful and caring.
You're always determined,
to achieve what's in your mind.
Always thinking of others,
you're actions are always kind.

To have a daughter like you,
was my ultimate dream.

I love you.

**Some photos have been removed whereas I don't like to post ones of  'Black Rose' for too long for security reasons.  Thanks for understanding.**

Don't walk behind me; I may not lead.
Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow.
Just walk beside me and be my friend.

Pick a time in your life...........

Recently I was involved in a conversation wherein
one suggested an age to which they would like to return.
As we began thinking and suggesting a time,
some were ages, some grades.

I choose a time in my life, by age.
I choose 27.
Why?
Simple.

I was 27 when Black Rose was born.
I wouldn't trade any of that which has come before or after.
I would go back to then, not so that I could change anything. Even if I could.
But that I would have the opportunity to share those years with her again.

Life simply goes by too quickly.
It seems that she was only starting School - yesterday.
Now, she has taken a job that is away from 'home'.
What a great 'jumping off point'
from which to ready herself for University in the Fall!
I wouldn't wish to change the challenges that we have experienced.
I shared with you our journey with Wilsons Disease.
The 'good stuff'- that's what I would like to experience most.
But then,
the tough times are what makes us stronger.

It's all in learning to dance....this is on my personal email as a quote - love it:
"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass... it's about learning to dance in the rain."

And,
if I were to remove any of those,
none of us would be who we are today.
27 is my answer.
Black Rose,
Thank you most of all,
 for being my Friend.

A 'RE-POST'

Below you will read a piece I did years ago for this Blog.  The time has flown by, the friends have remained the same for the most part.  But, young adults they have each become.  Many of those 'mentioned' within Graduated this year and are headed to the 'next chapter'.    Congratulations to each of you.  May you always feel welcome here at 'home'.

Christmas laughter

To hear 17 teenagers talking, laughing, and generally sounding like a busload of, well teenagers makes me smile. Most parents would be cringing...not me. Well maybe when I heard something crash to the floor...then it's only an object.

The political views, the personal views on a number of subjects, and the overall antics of teens. Wow, I don't think I could do that again. One especially reminds me of one that I 'grew up' with. Yep sounds just like him! Loud, opinionated and overall......a teen. Then there is another young fellow - more shy than the others it would seem. But I am sure he will soon begin to feel more comfortable among the others and us.

I have used this time wisely by wrapping gifts and catching up with friends on-line. As I sit here typing away I hear male voices approaching from downstairs. Wait it's two of them carrying a third! "My arms are falling asleep" D. reports to the others.

J. approaches me to inquire if I have any wrapping paper. Not my good stuff he says and only if I have extra. I tell him to help himself to the 'penquin' roll and off he goes. Wait, my scissers and tape have gone too...what are they up to?

Here they all come....noisily up the stairs. They are having a gift swap (yankee swap). One of the gifts is wrapped in my penquin paper. Yep, the poor fellow that they carried upstairs is lying on my kitchen floor. He will be a 'gift' for a period of 24 hours wherein he has to do what his recipient asks...such imaginations they have!! *Smiles*

Post update: 5 hours later and I am still sane. Yeah me! And considering that there were that many of them, the mess isnt' bad either. I hope they come back another day.

Today - I wouldn't change that which has happened or not happened since, but I certainly would repeat them!

Caching up on all things

Well, with Graduation over I can again take part
in my favorite sport - Geocaching.

We now have 24 caches out with more coming.
We have also been given permission to put
them within a Parkway near
where we camp.

We are planning an event in conjunction
with our Community Days
here at home too.

Busy busy

Memories and futures

We took some 'after prom' photos this weekend.
Pictured here are the 2 ladies at
the gazebo.
Ladies, are you looking into your futures?
