It's morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As the sun was rising it 'hit' my entrance door 'just so'. I felt I had to try and capture it's glow. It made me smile throughout the day, and almost called me out to play.

Good and Evil

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

He said, "My son, the battle is between two "wolves" inside us all.One is Evil -it is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.The other is Good -it is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

No need to knock- just come on in.

"In the house, and on the street, how many, many feet you meet".
"Small feet, big feet, here come pig feet". Seuss

Well, okay maybe not pig feet but...........
In MY house smelly feet, stinky feet, Chester Cheetos feet.

Each time I come across this picture I laugh. The top ones belong to a teenager (who is still growing) and the bottom ones belong to... well, me. One of my favorite sayings is 'that it's amazing that they hold me up'.

I remember a time during High School when my brother (4 yrs younger) was billeting a BBall player from NF - he wanted to know if we had any little kids in the house. (If only the rest of me was the same size now as I was then and not just my feet).

Dr. Seuss was born Theodore Geisel in 1904. Seuss was actually his middle name. He used the name Dr. Seuss when writing children's books so that he could use Theodore Geisel for more literature written for adults. Seuss was the author and illustrator of 44 books. Seuss died in 1991.

False Sunrise over the city

I wish I had carried my camera to work with me tonight....the sky is like a false sunrise. As I round Cox's turn, the trees frame the glow of the city . The orange of the city lights reflecting back from the low cloud cover is beautiful - breathtaking really. I truly feel as though I am meeting a new day rather than leaving one behind.

Oh to have an artist's hand to put this sight to canvas. But, I shall have to commit it to memory as an artist I am not.

Even as I continue driving, with a hint of rain in the air, I pass a home with a spotlight shining so that the kids can slide down the hillside. Oh to be young again to embark on a such an adventure into the darkness below.

I am reminded of how I learned to skate on the crust of the snows cape at my grandparents home (not far from where I live now).

By morning it will all be slush and water as the temperatures rise overnight. But oh what a joy to see such a sight as I head off to work.

Fresh Snow

It looks as though it will be a day or two before we sit upon this swing and enjoy spring together.
Another fresh snow has fallen with more to follow, but my goodness it's beautiful on the trees (check out sidebar) and the freshness of no one's footprints.
Drive carefully out there folks and enjoy the beautiful day.

In like a Lion?

Even the dog can't tell if there's someone out there. He thought 'dad' had come home.
Today is March 2nd, 2009 and this step has been cleared off numerous times tonight.
'Dad' had things to get done even though his 'people' had suggested he stay at home with us. The dog has been searching for him both inside and out for about an extra hour by this time. We are worried.
Oh, wait he's here...the dog is going crazy, and his people are glad to see him too.
