I recently had someone inquire
if I have an e-reader.
The answer is simple
'no'.
The why maybe a bit longer, but simple.
I read....a lot.
I read blogs and books,
not the newspaper.
I read Facebook,
and Zoomer,
not the newspaper.
Smithsonian and
National Geographic,
not the newspaper.
Ironically if I want to read the news,
I go to the local site and read
it from there.
Which is strange....'
because the main reason
why I don't have an e-reader
is
I like to turn the pages.
I like the feel of that book and all those hours held in my hand.
The creativity that I carry in my laptop bag, car, to the
Doctor/Dentist/Park and Home away from home.
It.............awes me.
I don't like however that it takes trees to make a book.
I realize that technology has removed that environmental
concern. But then again technology has
brought forth it's own woes. Hasn't it?
To my thinking, and I could be alone here,
for example is a painting
when you see a painting on the internet
do you experience feeling as
when you see it in an exhibit?
Words are written in a multitude of
venues.
Words are spoken in a multitude of
languages.
Words are sent daily through
telecom - VOIP.
Voice Over Internet Protocol - Wow who would have thought?
I love Skype and Google talk
one I use for pleasure chats
the other for work.
I use modern technology everyday,
both in work and play.
I just don't see me
reading my
book
from an e-reader.
At least, not yet.
Besides, I have to remove my contacts to see the book.
What would happen with an e-reader???
*smiles and chuckles*
Toodles.

I understand about turning the pages, but..... I've started reading on my I Pad because I can make the font larger and it's easier for me to read.
Have a good weekend and stay warm.
Hi Dolores - Happy Valentines day. Yes, bigger font - that would be wonderful. My eyes are seeming to become less focused all the time. At least on print. Take care.
