A 'man' cold and a great book

It Came!  It Came!!!!

I have been searching for this book

for awhile now -

"Dusty Waters, A Ghost Story"
by Laura J. W. Ryan.

I have been following
the author's blog

"Upstate Girl" for years
and have always enjoyed her blog entries.
Ironically, her entry for the
25th is this book!! 
 

 Recently I was on Amazon looking

for a Novel Black Rose needs for

one of her University Courses
"Gang Lead for a Day" and I

ordered Laura's book.


Neither of which were available through Chapters.
I swear Chapters must be kept going by this household -
but that's a story for another day.

 

It just came this week,

the same week as 

my 

'man cold'.

Okay, maybe that's not fair to the men out there.

But this cold has knocked me to my butt!!!

Moaning and groaning! And sounding like Darth Vador.

But, now I have a great book to read while I am lying low.

I can't quote any of it here and have only gotten into 

under 100 pages so far, but I want to say

I love one paragraph in particular on Page 7. 

Wherein she describes a childhood friend.
Of course I have enjoyed many others
as well, but this one calls out to me.
 

I am loving this book. As I said,

I am only what I consider a few pages in,

but I have caught myself laughing out loud,

being reminded of childhood games,
days of leisure
 and

imagination. 

 If only as adults we 

had the freedom to imagine like we did when we were young.
 

I think, Laura has done that in this book.

She writes in such a way that you 'see' the object

of description - being a place, an object or a person.

AND
Dusty Waters has a 'sister"
The Fractured Hues of White Light
which of course I will need to pick up,
well, order really.
