I had ventured to the ocean to catch a close up glimpse of the white caps (clearly seen from my unit and deck) and met others there too. Once again -these not the white caps (I am so mad).
Earl hit the campground with a howl and kept coming with the rains. He has since moved on and people are emerging from their units to check on neighbors and the ocean floor.
You can't see in this photo, but there are people walking biking and meeting at the beach to access the damage. These folks are meeting at one of the units.
Thankfully we were lucky (not like Hurricane Bill and the Mini-tornado of Dec 07 - a story and photos for another day). We only had the high winds, rain and little damage anywhere. Others are not so lucky.

Glad you are okay, what a time for the batteries not to cooperate. must have been scary for you. take care, be well.
Hello Cinner - how have you been, really? Thank you, now hopefully Fiona will be as nice.
I was so mad, they were brand new batteries! Oh well, thankfully we didn't have a power outage so my re-chargables were ready when the storm stopped.
It's actually more windy here (longer) today than yesterday when the storm came through. You know the 'calm before the storm'. Take care.
Good to hear you didn't have any damage.....
Take care and enjoy!
