Sadly this lady had recently sold her home and this is 'home' for the summer months. My heart breaks for her as she recovers from smoke inhalation and such. Thankfully, no one was badly injured and possessions are just 'things'. God is good.

These are just 'things'
I am not one to take photos of one's loss but wanted to share with you. As you may have suspected from my last Blog, I was home when this happened but my family/pets were staying at the campground. Coming into the Park last night my headlights catching that first glimpse. I can still smell the smoke/fumes in the air. The yellow 'caution' tape surrounding the yard. Flowers on the outdoor dining table, the others hanging as if they too can feel the loss. The picnic table sits as if to welcome you. It is at this time that you realize how closely you 'live' with and next to one another in such a 'community'.
Sadly this lady had recently sold her home and this is 'home' for the summer months. My heart breaks for her as she recovers from smoke inhalation and such. Thankfully, no one was badly injured and possessions are just 'things'. God is good.

This trailer sits only 4 up in the row behind where ours is located.
So sad for this lady, but this fire could have been a killer.
I'm so afraid of fire, but a trailer can burn so quickly...
Glad that the fire didn't spread....
Dolores you are so completely right. This is our 10th season here and something like this has never happened before. It is frightening. We were speaking with some ladies whose trailers are right behind this one - they commmented that they could not belive how quickly the flames leapt, the windows exploded and how fortunate that it was a 'calm' evening wind wise. Remember we are on the ocean, so it's often breezy.
Oh... wow, Shelley. I'm so sorry. What a terrible thing for this lady to have to go through. I'm glad no one was hurt and that more damage wasn't done. I'll be praying for this lady. Thank you for sharing.
HUGGS!
Thanks for the pictures Shelley.. I am really amazed that the other trailors escaped damage.. I do remember someone saying as we looked at the smokey haze through the trees, How calm the air was..
I am sorry for her.
Thank you everyone. Please remember her in the next while.
Gwen when I got a half-text from Black Rose that I was still trying to figure out, I almost called you folks to ask that you take a look down the 'hill' for me. At 12:15 am. I received the following Text: "Fire out now in Campground". Did that mean that they had a campfire? A Fire? Where? Who? Pardon? I was so glad to hear her nervous voice when she called!
They are having a Benefit Saturday evening at 7 pm at the Campground if anyone is interested in attending. They are having a bunch of locals 'jamming' and it is a by 'donation' night.
I'll bet your heart sank as you approached the trailer. I hope the woman was ultimately alright, smoke inhalation can be very bad.
Thank you for your visit Shelley, it's nice to meet you!
Love Di ♥
Yes,Diana thank you - that's what I was looking for exactly! My heart 'sank'. It did not stop, it did not quicken. I took an inward breathe and my heart sank.
Reports say that she is living with her son for the time being, but I am sure I will hear more in the coming days.
I jump over to your blog often. I shall visit again soon.
