The Good Old Hockey Game

A few weeks ago a gentleman walked up to me after Church, he had extra tickets to the Wildcats vs. Sea Dogs game the next evening and asked if I might use them. He had 3 extras and had been told that I might be interested and that he'd rather they didn't go to waste. I also should tell you that we had only begun attending this particular Church in recent weeks and I didn't know this fellow at all! I have one of those 'expressive faces' so I am sure mine was saying, 'Pardon?', 'Do I know you?' and 'How do you know my name?'. Turns out that he had been directed to me by the dad of Black Rose's friend.

The following day I was telling Carol, and she asked if I would be rooting for the Sea Dogs. I playfully told her "ummm no". At the game they were passing out 'banners'. I folded mine in half so that the Cavendish Farms advertising was on the outside and put it in a large envelope with Carol's name on it and had it taken to her. When she unfolded it she was presented with 'GO CATS GO' and their logo!!!! My boss came back to our office laughing saying Carol would be stopping by on her way back home to Saint John. (She did!! 'Game on Girl' she said laughingly).
That week there was an email "hope Shelley's working" and the stats advising that although we had won the game the 'Dogs' were higher then the 'Cats'. "Game on" I typed back that evening along with a reminder that we had retained the Rivalry Cup again this year. Of course, I also included stats.

This week I received an email "Round two" and this in an evelope:
