Time

They say time heals.
I sure hope so.

Please forgive me.
I am sorry.

UPDATE on my Niece

REPOST-Please remember her on July 30

My Sister-In-Law reports:

Gillian is home for 2 weeks and trying to make the most of it. I think she is looking for fun things to do with as many people as possible!

Her surgery is scheduled for very early July 30th. We have a final appointment with one of the surgeons next week but as of now, it looks like she will be 1/4 bionic. They are planning a hip replacement, an entire femur replacement and a complete knee replacement. The best way to look at it is that there will be no cancer left after all of that!!

About 3 weeks after surgery, the chemo will start again. She is 1/3 done her course of chemo. There is lung surgery in the future but that is not even on our radar right now.

My Daughter

What I Love About You.

I love the spirit of you....
the grace with which
you welcome each challenge,
the childlike wonder that still colors
your days.

I love the originality of you....
your willingness
to stand out from the crowd...
your unique perspective
on what's happening in the world
and in your life.

I love the wisdom of you...
the way you trust your intuition..
your unfailing commitment
to doing the right thing.

And most of all,
I love the heart of you...
the genuine compassion, empathy,
and friendship
you offer to everyone you know.

I guess it's pretty clear....
I love everything about you.

And on your Birthday, I'm wishing
joy and blessings to you,
my beautiful daughter and friend.

A salute to Co-workers & Friendships

Recently one of the Maintenance men with whom
Black Rose works,
was in a serious motor vehicle accident.

Although she is not one of  their 'crew',
she often travels in/out of the Park with them
as they begin/end their shifts.

She has gotten to know them well
and has been friends with one of them for a number of years.

Today is a 'dreary day' and not 35 degrees so it is the perfect
day to make my 'Peanut Butter Pies"
for the guys.

BR thought they could use a bit of cheering up.

So we will send two of these,
along with Tim Horton's Coffee
and 2 Hot Chocolate in the morning.

When I go to pick her up today,
we will take one to Eric and his family as well.

Recipe for 2 pies:

Cream the following:
2 blocks of Cream Cheese (250 g each)
1 Large tub of cool whip (slightly thawed)
2 Tbsp of Peanut Butter (+/-)
1 Tbsp of sugar (+/-)

Spoon into Graham Crust Pie Shell

And 'lace' with President's Choice
Chocolate Syrup
Ice cream & Dessert topping

Keep refrigerated.
Best eaten the next day.
