Black Rose appreciates the history of life & Architecture

Architecture (Latin architectura, from the Greek ἀρχιτέκτων – arkhitekton, from ἀρχι- "chief" and τέκτων "builder, carpenter, mason") is both the process and product of planning, designing and construction. Architectural works, in the material form of buildings, are often perceived as cultural symbols and as works of art. Historical civilizations are often identified with their surviving architectural achievements.

It certainly makes me wonder what we'll be leaving future generations such as the government services 'box on the hill' as referred to by the locals that has replaced the former and grand general hospital in uptown Saint John, N.B.

Both poor planning, and no architectural vision there. It's sad we can't simply look to some of the great architecture of Europe for inspiration here. No one says we have to copy the structures verbatim as it would obviously cost too much, but we can do much better than we're doing. Our province as a whole is poorer for these choices. Happy Valentine's BTW.
