Another Day of Exploring

 

 

 

While in the area we explored



 

and were reminded of those

that have served and currently serve.

Pulling it together

 

 

Well, it's been years

in the making,

but......

 

In the centre of the table

is a 'jar' with some of

Black Rose's hand-gathered

seaglass with a candle floating.

 

Finally!

Another of Black Rose's creations

sits on the credenza.

 

My Grammie's piano sits

in the corner (even

has her old hymnal).

 

My 2 favorite people

 

She had this done for us

years ago

while on one of her trips.

The dog felt left out

so he jumped in. 

 











Why the Poppy?

 

 

Remembrance Day: Lest we forget

A day set aside to honour sacrifice

 

The association between the poppy and war dates back to the Napoleonic wars, when a writer saw a field of poppies growing over the graves of fallen soldiers.

During the Battle of Ypres in 1915, Canadian Lt.-Col. John McCrae was inspired to write the poem In Flanders Fields on sighting the poppies growing beside a grave of a close friend who had died in battle.

 

The poem was a great inspiration in adopting the poppy as the Flower of Remembrance in Canada, France, the U.S, Britain and Commonwealth countries.

The first poppies were distributed in Canada in 1921.

Today the volunteer donations from the distribution of millions of poppies is an important source of revenue for the Royal Canadian Legion that goes toward helping ex-servicemen and women buy food, and obtain shelter and medical attention.

 



Determined to finish this project

 

A long time ago,

in a home,

far away...

 

Okay, not so far

but it's been a long time.

 

We are still working on completing

the renovations from when we

did the kitchen.

 

We have been searching for a

cabinet to replace the

sofa table in the dining room.

 

 

 

We finally found it!

I will post more as we

put the dining room

together as we have

finally found drapery

and such.

 

But here's a peek.

A Fall Day adventure with Pup Pup 2012

Pup Pup steps out the door,

'Ahh' what a beautiful day for a drive"

 

"Wait, that skunk was back last night".

 

"I love playing in the leaves,

maybe I will...........

play with these interesting balls

that mommy is trying to photograph

before the sun hits...oh too late".

 

Back from my drive.

Mommy drove me to the Dollar Store,

where I got her to buy these rats..

and this hand.

 

Well,

I think I will head inside but first, I want

to show you my new haircut

Mommy took me to the beauty parlor



Sherry was very nice to me. 

 

I am so proud

to be Canadian.
