Personal Time

The sound of the sea,  the changing of the tides.
 The carving of the caves.
The crunch of rock and sands beneath my feet.
The smell of the sea air, the kiss of fog.

I know just the place.
There, I shall go.

“Every person needs to take one day away.  A day in which one consciously separates the past from the future.  Jobs, family, employers, and friends can exist one day without any one of us, and if our egos permit us to confess, they could exist eternally in our absence.  Each person deserves a day away in which no problems are confronted, no solutions searched for.  Each of us needs to withdraw from the cares which will not withdraw from us.”

A Mini-Holiday

Recently we took a short Holiday.
It was to be a day trip to another Province,
but we made it into a 2 day affair.

We began by driving over the curved, 12.9 kilometre (8 mile) long Confederation Bridge.
It is the longest in the world crossing ice-covered water.

We watched as a starfish turned over from it's back to it's front

We visited The Canadian Potato Museum and it's various exhibits and outbuildings.
(more photos and such on this one later)

We stopped by "The Bottle House" with it's Tavern, Chapel and more
where the
buildings are made of over 25,000 varicoloured glass bottles

We walked the beach and watched as some seemingly were
being as pirates and 'pacing' off before the fight.

then walked to the rocks looking for Seaglass.

We visited a few well-known Lighthouses (such as West Point Lighthouse)

Then came back via the Ferry.
as we leave port

We remember, all in all, we had a good mini-holiday.
A few rough patches, but they were replaced with laughter.

Oh what a night -Graduation 2013

What a night!
Black Rose's Boyfriend graduated from High School
this week.

I truly am unable to express
the multitude of feelings
and the pride
I felt (feel)
for him.

I earlier wrote "Blessings"
wherein I spoke of visiting the grave of a woman I never met.

Well, this young man is doing AWESOME!

In the presentation of this first award, the Principal said:
"Often candidates for the medal are easily assumed or expected, and in less frequent examples, that leadership is equally effective but in a more subtle way. We know that genuine leaders often become known by the examples they set. This year’s Birks Medal goes to A " (as you know I don't use names).

Birk’s Medal – Leadership – “ This medal recognizes leadership in student affairs".

How very accurate is this introduction.

Additionally, he was awarded the following:
Dr. Turner Memorial Award-voted by the Teachers contributed most toward good citizenship,
Rev John Scott Memorial Bursary-Royal Canadian Legion' local Branch ,
as well as a Scholarship from  where he will be attending in the Fall.

 So proud of you both!!

Last year was Black Rose's year
for Scholarships and awards,
this years is yours.

As I said to the lady in front of me
at Graduation -
We may come from a small community
and in most cases never moved away,
but we never raised no dummies (play on as I don't usually speak incorrect English).

CONGRATULATIONS to each of you on a very successful year
as you both head to University & College in just  a little while.

That, my friends, will be a very exciting but challenging day for me!

Love ya both.

What an honor - thank you.

Recently I was invited to attend the ninth annual
ContactNB Awards of Excellence Gala
recognizing the Contact Centre Industry in our Province.

Imagine my surprise when they
called my name!

(below this is my name and the company for whom I work)

And then, as if that wasn't enough my boss invites
other attendees from our Company to join
he and I on stage for a photo op.

I have to say, they clean up nicely these gentlemen do.

"ContactNB President Rob Campbell
along with Lionel, James, Kyle  and Shelley  at
the ninth annual ContactNB Awards of Excellence Gala -
taking some time during the Gala to also celebrate Shelley's 10th anniversary with us !
Congratulations Shelley - Our Industry celebrating Great Careers not just Job"

I honestly can say, I couldn't do it without you guys!
Thank you!!

Blessings

I was thinking of Graduation today.
How important this step is in a young persons life.
The time with friends and family,
the food, the laughter and the pride.

And in that frame of mind,
I visited the grave of a young women whom I have never met.
A young woman that fell in love,
got married,
has 3 children
and was taken from this world a young woman.

Each  Sibling has already achieved many accomplishments in their young lives.

The oldest will be graduating from High School this month.
Heading off  to attend  College.
The others have each entered High School.

Our families have met at a number of functions over  the years.
One of whom has touched our lives closely.

As I knelt down to visit with her,
I told her how proud we are of each of them.
How they have made us laugh and have touched our hearts with tears.

Young Man,
we are 'uber' proud of you!!!
Of  your past achievements as well as future ones.
You will know we are at your graduation by our "Whoop" and our cheers.

To friendships

CONGRATULATIONS
